Taxation in Colombia

to any of the questions indicates that you may be required to file a tax
return in Colombia.
1. STAY (183 DAY RULE)
Have you been in Colombia for a total of more than 183 days in the last
365 days? These days do not need to be consecutive and can be
accumulated in any rolling 365-day period. Please note that any part of a
day in Colombia is counted as a full day.

must report all of your global income.
2. INCOME FROM COLOMBIAN SOURCES
Have you received income from Colombian sources, such as salaries,
wages, rents, consulting fees, dividends, interest or other financial

If you answer “Yes”, you must declare this income in Colombia,
regardless of your tax residence.
3. CAPITAL INCOME?
Do you own real estate properties in Colombia, including land,
apartments or commercial premises?

real estate in Colombia.
4. FINANCIAL RETURNS

obligations in Colombia and are likely to continue to have them.
LEGAL BASIS: The tax liability in Colombia is based on the articles of
law [Art. 591 Tax Statute], which establish that persons linked to
Colombia by their stay, income or economic interests are obliged to pay
taxes.
