Roger Schmidt
Born in 1972, Roger Schmidt is a qualified auditor with more than 25 years of professional experience. His career began as a deputy director at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Basel and as head of consolidated accounting at two international companies.
In 2015, Roger decided to embark on a new adventure: he left his job and moved to Colombia. In 2017, together with his lawyer wife, he founded the company Autarchy SAS in Medellín.
Autarchy SAS offers a wide range of services, including visa management, tax returns, company formation, as well as real estate and insurance services. Since its founding, the company has supported more than 600 foreigners in their adaptation and life in Colombia, currently employing around 8 people.
Thanks to the high quality standards of Autarchy SAS, we have managed around 1,000 visas, founded 80 companies, carried out 100 real estate transactions and assisted in 100 marriages. Since 2019, we have also offered relocation tours, which we have further professionalized due to increasing demand. Together with Thomas Christen, we founded “Make Colombia Yours – Auswander-Kolumbien” to organize emigration trips.
Thomas Christen
Travelling regularly to Colombia since 2010 and living in Medellin for 3 years, Thomas Christen is deeply integrated into Colombian culture and society. Married to a Colombian woman, Thomas is an economist and Swiss citizen, as well as a dipl. auditor.
His solid understanding of international business processes and structures has been key in his collaboration with Roger Schmidt. Their friendship and shared vision led to the founding of Auswander-Kolumbien SAS.
